When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
(Proverbs 16:7)

We are called to enjoy the experience of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High by having our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as our Shepherd. When you plead, “Lord, keep me under the shadow of Your wings. Cover me with Your feathers. Keep me away from all harm and danger”, besides granting His goodness and mercy He shall also cover you under His mighty wings.

In those days midwives helped both the women of Egypt and the Hebrew women during the time of delivery. we read about two midwives named Shiphrah and Puah in Exodus 1:15-21. Since the Israelites multiplied, Pharaoh planned to destroy all the boy babies the moment they were delivered. So he called the two midwives and told them, “When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy kill him. But if it is a girl let her live.” They also agreed.

In that critical juncture, they knew well that if they disobeyed the king, they will be killed but still as they feared God they saved even the boy babies. Hence the king summoned both the midwives. He asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?” Both of them filled with the divine wisdom of God replied, “Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women. They are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.” The Lord was gracious towards them and the Israelites increased all the more. Since the midwives feared God, the Lord gave them families of their own and enabled their faces to shine (Genesis 1:19-21). In the same way when enemies come against us, the Lord gives us His enormous wisdom and saves us.

Those who trust in the Lord call upon Him. They knew that the Lord is with them because He heard their cry (Psalm 41:2; 56:9). When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him (Proverbs 16:7) He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly (Proverbs 2:7). Are we righteous today? Or do we have shortcomings?

Are we saying that we are followers of Christ? The Bible explains the true Christian as, “Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24). When we say that we are Christians, then we must leave all our passions and desires and look only at the cross. Please think about this. Then the Lord shall certainly give you the wisdom to manage your family.
